Reasonable Suspicion Training for Supervisors (Regulated and Non-Regulated)
How do you know if an employee is under the influence? How should I confront my employee? What are the symptoms of prescription pill abuse?
The DOT requires that all regulated companies employ supervisors who are trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol use so they will be qualified to determine if reasonable suspicion testing is needed. This class is designed to satisfy that requirement. This class is also invaluable to non-regulated, private companies who wish to equip their supervisors with the skills necessary to make a legally defensible reasonable suspicion determination. The class is customizable to your company’s policy and is available at your business location or online.
Web-Based Reasonable Suspicion Supervisor Training
This training is ideal for those who need immediate training for new or newly promoted supervisors, those who lack the time or resources needed for coordinating a live training, or for companies based in remote locations who might have difficulty accessing our live training. This three-hour training meets the DOT’s requirements for supervisor training.
Designated Employer Representative (DER) Training
How do I know what the DOT requires of me as an employer?
The DOT requires that each regulated company employ at least one representative who acts as the drug and alcohol testing coordinator, the Designated Employer Representative (DER). Navigating the multitude of DOT requirements for the DER can be daunting and confusing. This three-hour course explains DER responsibilities in a clear, logical, and easy-to-understand manner. It also gives the DER, and Wienhoff, as the Third-Party Testing Administrator, a valuable opportunity to discuss our roles and responsibilities in relation to one another. The class is customizable to your company’s policy and is available at your business location or online.
Employee Training
How can I ensure that my employees are well-educated about drugs and alcohol and my company drug and alcohol policy?
Wienhoff provides comprehensive employee training programs for all types of companies. Our employee training course complies with DOT-required training guidelines for safety-sensitive employees. For non-regulated employers, this educational program ensures that your employees understand your testing program, learn about drug testing myths, and, most importantly, the dire consequences of drug use in the workplace. The class is customizable to your company’s policy and is available at your business location or online.
DOT Urine Specimen Collection Technician and “Train the Trainer” Training
The DOT requires that DOT Urine Specimen Collectors successfully complete a training program that includes both didactic instruction and proficiency testing. Our dynamic program is far from the traditional “talking head,” boring classroom training. It incorporates group learning exercises, individualized coaching, uneventful and unusual mock collections, and a comprehensive review of DOT collection guidelines. Instructors draw from over 20 years’ experience conducting DOT specimen collections to prepare students for the countless unforeseeable situations that present themselves while performing specimen collections. This class is also available as a “Train the Trainer,” which equips students who are experienced Collectors (minimum one year experience required) to conduct Urine Specimen Collector Trainings.
Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) and BAT “Train the Trainer” Training
The DOT also requires that Technicians who conduct breath alcohol tests for regulated employees attend a didactic training that includes proficiency scenarios. Our eight-hour class fulfills this requirement using a highly interactive, dynamic educational model. Wienhoff employs the only two Lifeloc Master Trainers in the state who provide certification training on the use of Lifeloc brand evidential breath analyzers. This class is also available as “Train the Trainer” (minimum one year BAT experience required), which qualifies participants to conduct Breath Alcohol Technician Trainings.
